About upsc.help
upsc.help (Pratidin, from the Hindi and Bengali word for "every day") is a free, open-source site for UPSC Civil Services current affairs. It is independent and is not affiliated with the Union Public Service Commission or any coaching institute.
What you get
- Every day, the stories from The Hindu, The Indian Express and PIB that the exam can ask about, chosen against the UPSC syllabus.
- For each story: a neutral summary, Prelims facts, a Prelims question with its answer, a Mains question with a model answer, the background concepts explained from zero, and the real previous-year questions it helps answer, with notes on where it fits in your answer.
- A short brief for every other relevant article of the day.
- A study app with spaced-revision flashcards, quizzes, timed Prelims mocks with negative marking, and timed Mains answer writing. Your progress stays in your own browser.
How the content is made and checked
Each day's stories and briefs are drafted with the help of AI models, working from the newspaper reports and, where they exist, primary documents such as judgments, bills and government releases. Every draft is then checked claim by claim by a separate review that did not write it: each number, date, name, Article, Act, scheme and quotation is compared against the sources. Anything that cannot be confirmed is removed rather than left in. Opinions from editorials and op-eds are attributed to their authors, not stated as fact.
Every previous-year question is checked against a published copy of that year's paper before it is linked, and the notes on how to use a story in an answer use only facts that are in the story.
Every page links to the reports it was written from. Read the originals for anything you plan to quote in the exam.
